Fourteen young musicians from Merchants’ Academy in Bristol will join forces with sixteen from Churchill Community School - a school with Performing Arts specialist status in North Somerset, to compose and perform their very own piece of music under the guidance of local composer Richard Barnard and professional musicians from The Bristol Ensemble.
The young musicians, aged 11-14, will use their instruments ranging from violin to bass guitar to create a brand new piece of music reflecting different aspects of their lives. Over the course of two weeks working individually at first and then together, the project gives these two very differently situated schools the opportunity to build and share creative experience and enterprise supported by professional musicians. The project culminates in a performance of the final work on Friday October 15th at Merchants’ Academy at 2pm. If you would like to attend please contact Neil Tamlyn at Merchants’ Academy - mailto:neil.tamlyn@merchantsacademy.org.
There is a further opportunity to hear highlights of the performance at the Colston Hall, Bristol as part of the Elektrostatic concert with the Bristol Ensemble on Wednesday 20th October
8pm. Tickets available from the Colston Hall Box Office.

The project is funded through Churchill Music!, and is a unique and first-time collaboration between Churchill Music!, St George's Bristol Education, Merchants' Academy Bristol, Churchill Community School North Somerset, and the Bristol Ensemble.
