Advanced music students at Churchill Academy compete for title, 'Churchill Young Musician of the Year'

Eight finalists from Churchill Academy will each perform an eight minute programme of contrasting works which they wish to share with us. A panel of three independent judges, chaired by a performing musician will be looking for the student who not only performs technically well, but has the ability to communicate with their audience - we are sure that you will agree.

The winner gains the title Churchill Young Musician of the Year with a generous cheque from an anonymous donor.

Our Churchill Music! Junior trophy is also awarded to the best musician from years 7 - 10 as well as the Raymond Hayter Song Prize, generously donated by a Sandford resident, to a previously selected candidate.

The winners also gain the opportunity to perform at a special lunchtime concert at the prestigious concert venue, St. George's Bristol with whom Churchill Music! is a partner for education and concert promotion.

Delicious canapés are served during the nail biting interval when you, our valued audience, have your chance to vote for the musician that you feel deserves to win the specially designed Churchill Music! Audience trophy. The audience is further entertained during the interval by talented choir/musicians from Churchill Academy.

The Churchill Young Musician of the Year is an inspirational evening. All are welcome to come and support these outstanding students.
