Christine Stevenson

Christine Stevenson enjoys a distinguished career performing throughout the UK and abroad. Her concerts continually draw critical acclaim for her virtuosity, musicianship and the engaging rapport she establishes with audiences of all ages.

Christine makes a welcome return to Somerset in a solo recital featuring Beethoven's sublime 'Moonlight' sonata, Chopin's Nocturne Op 48, works by Liszt, Schumann and Debussy as well as Gershwin's scintillating Three Preludes. "...a player of outstanding talent and musicianship - she appeared to make light of the ferocious difficulties of her programme, never losing sight of the expressive quality of the music."

Recordings with the Carducci Quartet for Boosey & Hawkes are currently in production, and she has been invited to give a masterclass for the London Piano Circle.

Last year Christine played in the World Premiere performance and recording of The Same Flame, a work for mixed voices and piano by Matt Harvey and Thomas Hewitt Jones, which was commissioned by Churchill Music! and she was the pianist on three of the Olympic Mascots animated film soundtracks. She gave first performances in London of repertoire by Terry Mann and Helen Grime.
