This young brass group have performed throughout the country to critical acclaim. Formed in 1999 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under the guidance of the renowned trumpet player John the quintet became the first brass quintet to be awarded the prestigious Professional Performance Royal Northern College of Music with distinction.

In 2004 the group was runner up in the Philharmonia Martin Musical Scholarship and performed their recital at the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, to great critical acclaim

Their programme for Churchill Music! will include original works for Brass Quintet by Joseph Horovitz, Jim Parker (Ground Force), Malcolm Arnold, Astor Piazzolla as well as Bernstein’s thrilling West Side Story.

Metropolitan Brass will also: perform at St. George’s Bristol, work with students from Churchill School and perform a schools concert for local Primary schools both here and at St. George’s. “If you get the chance you should hear this quintet!” Adrian Morris, Hallé Orchestra.
